Embárcate en una aventura por el corazón de la selva maya campechana con nuestra ruta a Río Bec. Our first stop will be Ucum, a small town about 20 minutes from Bacalar. Here, we’ll take a break to enjoy a traditional local breakfast before continuing our journey to Becán. Once there, you’ll discover the highlights of this remarkable Maya archaeological site, with approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to explore.
ext, we’ll visit Chicanná, a small but remarkable Maya archaeological site known for its beautifully detailed architecture. Its name is often associated with the meaning “House of the Serpent’s Mouth,” inspired by the striking façade of one of its main structures. We’ll spend about 1 hour exploring the site and taking in its unique architectural details.
Next, we’ll venture into Hormiguero, a fascinating Maya site renowned for its monumental architecture and stunning main structure. Its impressive façade is adorned with enormous masks of the Maya god Itzamná, a striking feature of the Río Bec architectural style. Far less crowded than Calakmul, Hormiguero offers a more intimate experience, where you can admire the grandeur of Maya architecture surrounded by the lush, untamed jungle.
Finally, we’ll visit a local community where we’ll enjoy a delicious homemade meal before heading back to our respective destinations.
For many of our tours, we offer hotel pickup or pickup from designated meeting points. Coverage and any additional charges depend on the hotel’s location and the tour booked.
We recommend bringing comfortable clothing and footwear, sunscreen, insect repellent, a swimsuit when applicable, a towel, a hat or cap, money for personal expenses, and a form of identification.
Most excursions operate in light rain. If weather conditions pose a risk to passengers, we may modify, reschedule, or cancel the service in accordance with the tour’s terms and conditions.
